Bobsy's Blog No. 27 - World Water Day - Website Graphic 01A-01.jpg

“Water, water everywhere and not a drop to spare…”
Went the old Rhyme, but today it has surely become…
“Water, water everywhere and not a drop uncontaminated.”

On World Water Day, the least we can do is to become aware that such a day exists.

Then, we must educate ourselves on the state of the waters on Planet Earth today.
Then, we must inform ourselves with information on why our waters are in such a state.
Then, we must acknowledge our responsibility in the contamination and depletion of our global waters.

Only then are we empowered to find solutions and inspire change.

This pattern is not unique to the severe drought and water problem humanity is facing today, but to life in general. First become aware of the problem, then acknowledge your responsibility in the problem, and only then can you become empowered to solve and transcend the problem on hand.

Saving water when we brush our teeth, wash our dishes or hands, etc., has become second nature for most of us, and we see ourselves passing on these concerns to our children, but what we are missing is the Pink Elephant in the room. The biggest culprit in the cause of drought and contamination of our global streams, rivers, seas, and oceans is agriculture and specifically industrial animal agriculture.

In other words, our diets and specifically our choice to eat animals. Meat, fish, and dairy are the leading causes of the climate crisis upon us today.

The solution is available to all of us immediately, regardless of our economic and cultural circumstances, and that is to reduce our consumption of animal protein. Something we are all capable of doing.

Dare I say it -- “Diet Change Not Climate Change.”

Until soon
